The Standards of Practice provide a framework which describe the knowledge, skills and abilities inherent in the services provided by the person certified within that Standard. Although no regulations exist for the field of bioenergetic wellness, the Standards may be used by regulatory agencies to determine competency. The main purpose of professional standards is to direct and maintain a safe and clinically competent Bioenergetic practice.
These standards are important as they ensure proficiency and safety. Through established Standards of Practice, the public is assured that clinical practices meet or exceed the established standards. This is important in maintaining the trust and respect of our clients and the community. In addition, these Standards serve as a guide for self-evaluation, assisting the professional and student in determining education and skills needed to advance the level of practice. Establishing Standards encourages the pursuit of expanding skill and knowledge through training and experience.
