World Mental Health Day 2026

What if one simple idea, movement, creative experience, or moment of awareness could help someone discover a new way to support their mental wellbeing?

This World Mental Health Day, CanBeWell is once again joining colleagues around the world through IASK – The International Association of Specialized Kinesiologists to share practical ideas from the field of BioEnergetic Wellness.

Our goal is simple: to help people discover accessible tools they can explore for themselves, while inspiring professionals to recognize the many ways their work can contribute to mental health and everyday wellbeing.

Building on Our World Mental Health Day Journey

World Mental Health Day has become an important opportunity for our community to come together, share knowledge, and make wellness resources more accessible.

In previous years, CanBeWell contributors have created a collection of videos exploring different approaches to wellbeing and self-care. These presentations remain available through our World Mental Health Day playlist on the CanBeWell YouTube channel.

We have also created two special World Mental Health Day publications, bringing together ideas, experiences, and practical approaches from contributors within our international community. These publications can be found through the CanBeWell website.

Together, these resources are creating a growing library that people can return to whenever they are looking for ideas to support themselves, their families, their communities, or the people with whom they work.

Something New Is Coming for 2026

Over the coming weeks, we are delighted to introduce five new videos from four presenters: Tanya Levy, Michelle Greenwell, Marian Egan, and Colin MacLeod.

Each presenter brings a different perspective and a different way of exploring mental wellbeing.

Across the series, viewers will be invited not simply to listen, but to notice, experience, explore, and reflect.

What changes when we bring awareness to what we are feeling?

What happens when we add movement, creativity, intention, connection, or another BioEnergetic Wellness tool?

Can a small experience provide information that helps us choose what we need next?

These are some of the possibilities our presenters will explore.

From Information to Experience

An important part of BioEnergetic Wellness is recognizing that wellbeing is not only something we learn about. It is something we can actively explore.

That is why our 2026 World Mental Health Day presentations include practical opportunities for viewers to experience techniques for themselves.

A simple awareness activity can provide a starting point. A technique can then be explored, followed by another moment of observation: What do I notice now?

There is no required outcome and no single experience everyone needs to have. Instead, these explorations encourage curiosity and provide opportunities to develop greater awareness of our own responses.

That awareness can become part of everyday self-care.

Inspiring Our International Community

Our collaboration with IASK also carries a larger invitation.

Around the world, facilitators, educators, researchers, artists, movement specialists, and wellness professionals are developing approaches that may contribute to mental wellbeing in many different ways.

We hope this year's project encourages members of our wider community to ask:

How does the work I already do support mental wellbeing?

And perhaps even more importantly:

How can I share one simple tool that could help someone help themselves?

When knowledge becomes accessible, experiential, and easy to integrate into daily life, its reach can extend far beyond a classroom, session, workshop, or professional setting.

Creating a Global Resource for Wellbeing

World Mental Health Day reminds us that mental wellbeing belongs in our everyday conversations.

It can be supported through the ways we move, create, connect, breathe, reflect, engage with nature, set intentions, develop awareness, and build community.

Through our collaboration with IASK, CanBeWell is grateful to help bring these conversations and resources to a global audience.

We invite you to explore our previous World Mental Health Day videos, discover our special publications, and watch for the five new presentations arriving in the coming weeks.

Most of all, we invite you to participate.

Try the activities. Notice your experience. Share the resources with someone who may benefit. And consider what you already have within your own life, work, and community that can contribute to mental wellbeing.

Together, we can continue building a worldwide collection of ideas, experiences, and practical tools that empower people to take an active role in their own wellbeing.
